"I thank you. I hope that celebrations like this can continue every year considering it is able to display our local wisdom culture," he expressed, Monday (11/28).

Since it was officially established as a regency 21 years ago, he explained, the Seribu Islands development was not lagging behind other areas on the mainland of Jakarta. Nevertheless, his party hoped there would be a strengthening of the tourism sector, thus it could become an industry capable of supporting the Seribu Islands' economy.

Seribu Islands Culture Sub-agency Head, Tony Bako explained that this activity is an actualization of Law Number 5/2017 on Cultural Progress.

"It aims to reconstruct cultural arts traditions that people rarely do, as well as to protect and maintain cultural heritage with the philosophical values of life embodied in the form of local cultural arts traditions," he explained.

He added that the activity itself included the Seribu Islands Special Culinary Competition, Decorative Boat Competition, Pulang Babang Tradition Performance, Seribu Island Children's Creation Dance Performance, Wedding and Circumcision Bride Processions, and folk music entertainment.

"It also empowers the Seribu Islands' cultural arts artists and can become a tourist attraction," he stated.
